Where Does The Time Go!

The age old question; “Where does the time go!” No one has the answer. Maybe we should be asking ourselves what do we do with the time that we are given. I often think about the who, what, where, when and why questions of life based upon my job. To be a photographer is to be a record keeper of life. I tend to live in the moment that is occurring, wanting to hold on to it forever. The photographic image will last a lifetime and beyond. As the memory fades, the sense of time that has passed will live in this frame captured by the camera. The photographer bears the responsibility to accurately depict the emotion of the moment and carry it for generations to encounter at a later time. I bring this up reading a note from a friend about her son turning 12 today. My oldest will be turning 12 in just a short time. This photograph below was taken just a couple of years ago. My girls skipping down a path, maybe as a metaphorical skip through a window in time.  As a parent, a brief moment that you wish would last a lifetime.

  3. What a great picture. And I know the feeling you describe, what a gift photographs give us. Moments and emotions we may never have recalled if we hadn't taken the shot.

So funny, I was reading your profile, remember when we worked at the One Hour Photo? I went on to shoot weddings, parties, portraits and even team sports *gack*. But left for a career in home health care sales and operations...Not doing that currently but it just struck me as funny. So glad you have had such great success both in photography and parenting. The girls are beautiful. Ha! See, your photo made me feel nostalgic ;) ~angela
